Learning through Technology:
A Classroom Toolkit

Prior to taking a course which focused on the Social, Ethical, and Legal issues of the 21st century, I had very little knowledge of the legal responsibilities of educators surrounding internet safety for minors.
I’ve learned that as an educator, it is my responsibility to consistently educate and enforce the necessary rules that ensure students are using the internet safely.

Throughout the beginning stages of students’ internet literacy journey, it is important that they understand the themes of Digital Citizenship, Fair Use and Copyright Compliance, and ISTE standards. I have provided links and resources to help students, parents, and educators understand how to safely use the internet as a learning tool.  The toolkit also includes a few at-a-glance resources that will be helpful when teaching students about internet literacy.
